1973 

God showed favor upon Reverend Underwood and the Grace Baptist Church family by continuing to increase the membership.  It became necessary to seek another building for worship, hence the purchase of anew church and Parsonage located at 223 New Jersey Avenue.  Giving praises to God every step of the way, Pastor underwood led the Grace Baptist Church family on a march from the original landmark at 475 Vermont Street to its’ present site on New Jersey Avenue.  

He established the Grace Day Care Center at 223 New Jersey Avenue , Because he knew the importance of passing on to our children a foundation of spiritual, family and academic values.
