1986

 In March, reverend commenced the necessary steps to enable the Church to dispose of the campsite mortgage. 

On August 10, 1986, lighting struck the peak of the Church causing over quarter million dollars in damages to the structure.  During the first few days following the fire, Pastor Underwood led his Congregation in prayer in darken Sanctuary.  The “Holy Spirit”   Was evident, yielding strength, faith and hope.  Despite the despair, there was genuine feeling of fellowship and concern that manifested its self into the Church Family because of leader whose faith was unrelenting.
